Is there any alternative to nodejitsu? nodejistsu works very erratic and sometimes doesn't work at all...

where can i host my nodeJs projects?
I'd recommend Heroku. You can find a tutorial on using NodeJS here. It has the benefit of being free for smaller projects, and scales incredibly easily. You don't need to worry about servers or instances or anything.
Also, if you use Cloud 9 IDE, you can deploy directly to Heroku quite easily. More information is here.
Try using amazon web services. Its slightly more complex but its free for a year and gives you a host of other powers
